Kathmandu, Apr 21: The Ministry of Labor (MoL) official has said that Nepali workers will leave for South Korea under the Employment Permit System (EPS) by June this year.

"There are certain procedures to be followed after the publication of results of the Korean Language Proficiency Test (KLPT) before the workers can be sent to Korea. We expect Korean job hopefuls to be leaving for their destinations by June 2008," Kantipuronline quoted Shyam Prasad Mainali, Secretary at MoL, as saying.

On Friday, the MoL had published results of the KLPT in which 6,772 candidates passed out of a total of 31,525.

The selection of the candidates was done on the basis of merit rather than pass marks set by the Korean Human Resource Department.

For conducting of medical tests, the Ministry was all set to choose four government health institutions.

"Patan Hospital, Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Bir Hospital and Central Lab were going to be accredited for doing the health checkups as the government could not find other institutions meeting the standards set by Korean authorities," Shyam said.
