Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Apr 21: Our culture is well known all over the world. It has put a stamp of recognition in the world map as our diverse culture is famous in all continents. We celebrate different religious festivals throughout the year. That is why unity in diversity exists in our country. Among all cultures and traditions, tribal culture has its unique identity. This was witnessed at Bhopal Haat the other day. Tribals from Alirajpur Tehsil in Jhabua district performed at the Summer Haat being held at the Bhopal Haat premises. The dance programme of tribals forced even the audience to dance with them. Their Bhagoria dance was liked very much by the audience. The tribal boys and girls danced to the tune of Dhol and Shahnai. After watching the colourful dance programme the Bhopal Today Team reporter talked to some tribal performers and the visitors to know more about them and their culture.

Saya, a tribal dancer informed that the Bhagoria Dance is the folk dance of tribals. 'We do this during festivals or at the time of marriage. We are from Alirajpur and we have a full team of dancers including girls', he said.

Manoj Singh Chouhan, who had come to the Haat and watched the dance said that he had seen such dance earlier on the TV channel. Today he had the fortune to watch the dance so close. 'I liked the dance very much. The music that accompanied the dance was so interesting, it even forced me to dance with them'.

Bhupendra Patidar, MBA student of ICFI College, Bhopal, who had watched the dance said he had no idea the tribals would dance so nicely. The dancers seem to be expert in their field, he added.
