Lifestyle changes during the summer season. Due to severe heat during the day, people are going out in the evening only. To make the evenings a pleasant one, the MP State Tourism Development Corporation has organised the bhopal Carnival from 19 to 26 April. At the Carnival premises, handlooms and handicrafts exhibition is being held. Craftsmen from different places have brought hand made cloth, wooden items, etc for exhibition and sale at the Carnival. The Bhopal Today Team reporter has talked to some craftsmen and persons visited the Carnival to know about their views on the items and the Carnival.
Mamta Prajapati is a craftswomen from Bhopal. She makes beautiful items with wood and jute. Since the last 20 years she has been in the field. She has made several items with wood and jute like toys and items for the kitchen.
Javed Ansari has brought the famous 'Chanderi Saris' from Chanderi in Ashok Nagar District of Madhya Pradesh. The saris cost between Rs 250 and Rs 7000, he said proudly. This is his second visit to Bhopal and he is in the business since last five years. He is happy that the women here are interested to wear Chanderi Saris in spite of the cost.
