St Michael enters in semifinals

Bhopal, Apr 20: Cricket Tournament is being organised by Bhopal Divisional Cricket Association (BDCA) at Old Campion Ground, Arera Colony under Bhopal Carnival-2008. Quarterfinal matches were played on Sunday. The second match was played between, St Michael Academy and Ankur Academy. The captain of Ankur Academy Jyoti Prakash won the toss and took decision for fielding.

Sameer Qureshi and Salman Beg of St Michael Academy scored 139 and 37 runs respectively. Shan-e-Alam scored 37 runs. The team total scored 301 runs in 47 overs. Sargam Vishwakarma, Abhay Goswami and Pushendra Singh of Ankur Academy bagged 3-3 wickets respectively.

In the replay, Mahendra Satokar, Jyoti Tyagi, S Shukla, Abhaya, Anupam Topo and Pushendra Singh scored 48, 9, 0, 0, 9, and 40 runs respectively. The team total scored 121 runs in 27 overs and they were all out. Danish Rain of St Michael Academy bagged 4 wickets to give 35 runs in 8 overs, Subur bagged 2 wickets, Muktadir and Zamran bagged 1-1 wicket respectively.

The team won the match by 185 runs and entered in semifinals. The General Secretary of BJP Shyam Narayan Singh was the chief guest and he gave the trophy of Man of the Match to Sameer Qureshi for his excellent performance.
