Bhopal, Apr 20: Flowers are beautiful. All of us like the flowers irrespective of colour, size, and fragrance. If the flower has pleasant smell, its quality is doubled. It is being used on all occasions-whether tragic or happy. For Hindus, flowers are must for pooja and other religious activities. wreaths are offered to the body as a mark of respect. At the same time, the flowers in the form of garland and bouquet are used at the time of marriage and other happy occasions too. We cannot think of a marriage ceremony without flowers. This may be the case everywhere in the world.

Like expensive dresses, ornaments, music band and tasty food, flowers are also an integral part of every marriage. For decoration of stage to garland flowers are used. The floral decoration on the vehicle is the identity of the car in which the bride and groom are traveling.

Moreover, at big marriage parties, from the entrance gate to the stage, the path is decorated with flowers. It is a pleasant view and creates a more pleasant atmosphere with the fragrance coming from the flowers. After the marriage, the bedroom is also decorated with pleasant smelling flowers. Local as well as imported flowers are used during the marriage.

According to a florist of the state capital, the flowers are brought from other states as the demand could not be met by the available flowers in the city. Some flowers like Rose, Zarbera, Carnation, Nilium, Gladiolus are brought from Bangalore. He said that to make the marriage ceremony more attractive, some hybrid varieties of flowers are also being imported. He said that rich people would like to get the decoration done by expensive foreign flowers like Orchid, Zarbera, Carnation.

On this subject the Bhopal Today Team reporter talked with some florists of the state capital to know more about the trend to use flowers during marriages. According to them, the marriage season is the best for them to earn money. They get good offers to decorate the stage, car, bedroom apart from the garlands and bouquets.

Gopnarayan is a florist at Bittan Market. He has been in this business since last eight years. The marriage season is the best to earn more money, he said. 'In this age of plastic flowers, the original flowers are used in such occasions.

Vinod Rathore, a florist of 12 years standing, felt that flowers give attractive look to the marriage celebration. Decorating the stage with different kind of flowers give the stage an attractive look and the atmosphere a pleasant fragrance, he said. We have to keep all types of flowers to meet the demand, he said.

Rajesh Prabhatia has been earning a living from selling flowers since last ten years. He said during marriage, decoration with electric lights is the trend these days. Still, he felt floral decoration has not lost its place.
