Fire incident took place in Super specialty hospital of Gas Relief, Kamla Nehru hospital on Saturday. There was stampede like situation among the patients. If fire was not controlled then and there then any serious untoward incident could occur.
According to sources, short circuit took place on the second floor of Kamla Nehru Hospital and heap of rubbish caught fire. Earlier the same incident had taken place before 4 months in the same hospital.
Patients fled from wards- According to eye witnesses, the patients felt suffocation as fume like situation occurred in the hospital at 12.00 hours. Hospital staff and patients saw that electric wires were sparking at second floor.
The patients left their beds and started to flee here and there.
Soon the people gathered near the hospital . Patients were shouting for help.
Hospital management switched of lights and made arrangements to extinguish fire. It took around two hours to control the fire.
Official sources said that the fire had taken place in the heap of rubbish. There is no loss due to this fire.
Unsystematic wires and cables hanging in hospital- inside and outside of the hospital the unsystematic wires and cables are hanging here and there which invite short circuit incidents.
The hospital management did not take lesson from earlier fire incident took place before 4 month and electric fitting was not set right.
Similarly, there is no sufficient water facility in upper storey, whereas fire like incidents generally increase in summer.
Patients said- no proper arrangement in hospital- The in patients are resented with the lack of arrangements in the hospital.
Ramnarayan Tamrakar says that rubbish is not removed from hospital premises. Sanitary workers do not pay attention on cleanliness.
Purushottam Chouhan said that electric wires are hanging here and there which invite incidents.
Alok Shrivastava said that the patients on first and above floors don not get drinking water properly, even they become sick of using latrines.
In charge suprintendent, Dr Santosh Saxena said that asses of burnt cable on second floor was the reason behind the fire incident. Power supply was turned off and fire was extinguished. Wiring is being set right with the help of electricians.
