Reshuffle of IPS officers likely soon

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, Apr 19: The IPS officers posted at the Police Headquarters (PHQ) and SAF Battalion for a long period would be shifted to district headquarters soon. Sources informed that about a dozen officers might be shifted to districts in the near future.

At Ashok Nagar and Umaria, the additional superintendents of police are in charge of the districts. It is expected that the present exercise will be the last transfer before the assembly election announcement. The SPs, who were transferred earlier from the districts to the PHQ will be sent back to the field. Due to the forthcoming elections, it has become certain that the SPs, DIGs and IGs posted at one place for more than three years will be transferred.

There are some officers who wanted to go back to the districts where the SPs are expected to be transferred. The SPs posted at Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ratlam and Khandwa may get the transfer orders. The IGs of Bhopal and Indore Zone are recently changed. The IGs at Sagar, Ujjain, Rewa zones have not completed even two years. Likewise some officers of the rank of DIG may also get the transfer orders next month.

List of officers belonging to the State Police Service who have been posted at one place for more than three years is also ready. DSP, ASP and Inspector level officers of the SPS may also get the marching orders, the sources said.
