Prem Chand's drama reflects society

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Apr 18: 'Boodhi Kaki', the famous story in Hindi written by the great writer Prem Chand several decades ago, is still relevant as it reflects the society. The story is about collecting of ancestral property and discarding the aged persons in the house. Sanjay Sharma a railway employee changed the story into drama form and directed it. The railway employees staged this drama on the occasion of observing 53rd Railway Week.

The drama reflects the fact that even today, our parents and relations, when become old are badly treated. They are not loved, taken care of or given enough food to live. Often they are forced to leave the house and beg. It is an eye-opening story which became alive when staged.

Usha Nikalje 'lived' as 'Kaki' in the drama. The story and the acting was so heart rendering that the audience shed tears while watching it. The other actors, Chandrakant, Vedant Sharma, Ashwini, Sunil purohit, Neetu Chandel etc also did justice to their characters.

The drama gave the message to the society that the aged persons should be loved, and not discarded as they deserve respect and love from all.

Chief guest on the occasion, Railway Manager Ashok Agrawal has awarded 173 employees for their individual work and 20 others for their group work.

They say

Suman Tiwari, chief of office Superintendent said she felt happy when your work brings you award. She felt encouraged when hard work of the whole year brought her laurels. She said she would work more hard and sincerely in future.

Mrs. Mamta Pathak, Senior Clerk felt that such encouraging should be in all departments. When your hard work is recognised, you are bound to work more and sincere.
