As the school buses does not go inside the dozens of residential colonies situated on the Kalibari Road, the students have to walk a long way to reach the main road and wait for the bus in the scorching sun as there is no bus stop or any shade either to escape from the heat and sunshine.
The most affected students are those who have to attend the classes from 12 noon. As there is no tree for shade, the parents of students of the age group of 5-12 have to fear of Sun stroke affecting their wards.
The parents say that their children have to stand in the scorching sun, and on rainy days suffer in the rain. Jawaharlal Nehru School student Lokesh' father Amitesh said second shift for primary and middle classes in Carmel Convent, Jawaharlal Nehru School, Maharshi Vidya Mandir etc starts at 12 noon. To catch the bus in time, students have to reach the road at around 11.00 am and wait for the bus.
Mahesh Sharma, another parent informed that the Kalibari Road is about 3 km long and there is no bus stop or even a tree on either side of this road. He said that children of several BHEL employees are facing such hardship while going to school. He demanded that the BHEL administration should construct at least a few bus stops on the road as no one else is allowed to do so.
