Haj direct flights plunge into controversy

Bhopal, Apr 18: The Central Government's plan to start direct 'Haj Flights' from Indore, instead of Bhopal has snowballed into controversy with various Muslim organisation of the State capital opposing the move.

In a joint meeting held in the State capital, members of the various organisation passed a unanimous resolution opposing Union Government's move to start direct 'Haj Flights' from Indore instead of Bhopal. Being chaired by by Akbar Mohammed Khan, the joint was attended by office bearers and members of Bhopal Adabi Sangam, Muslim Welfare Society and Muslim Numanida Committee.

The members of the various organisation stated that Bhopal is not only the capital of Madhya Pradesh, it has maximum concentration of Muslim population.

Besides, the Muslim population of the State capital contributes 75 per cent Hajis in a quota of 3000 Hajis.

The members, representing various organisations urged upon the authorities to reconsider their decision and arrange 'direct Hajj flights' from Bhopal instead of Indore.

Various Muslim organisations of the State capital on Friday strongly opposed Central Government's plan to start direct 'Haj Flights' from Indore instead of Bhopal.
