Quota will deepen divide

| Though in giving its decision in favour of the OBC reservation quota, the Supreme Court has been careful to add the riders of (a) excluding the creamy layer, (b) making the operation of the quota rule subject to a review every 5 year and increasing the number of general category seats so as to provide for the deserving general category candidates, the fact remains the caste cauldron already on the boil will start flowing over in full fury sooner than later. The OBCs should be provided facilities at the primary, higher secondary and college levels so that they can compete with the best for admissions for the IITs and IIMs.
