Bhopal, Apr 15:
As soon as the summer is here, one or the other change can be seen in our city. The change is to be seen everywhere, at our house as well as in the market. Summer is a season during which people go on tour to hilly places or to their relatives. It generally is the time of leisure - for the student community at least. The evenings are generally reserved for going out - for shopping or to meet friends and relatives. If any fair is organised, going there will be a change from the routine shopping. This sort of scenario could be seen at the Summer Haat organised at the Bhopal Haat, started from Friday last. During evening hours, more people are seen at the Summer Haat. The experts here in handloom and handicrafts sections show their expertise to the visitors. This is one of the main reason why people are thronging the Haat.
Our reporter has talked to the experts in the handloom and handicrafts sections and some buyers. They say -
Pawan Muvel, member of Self Help Group in Bajrangi Village, Khargone said he had come to Bhopal with other members. I belong to Khadia village in Maheshwar tehsil where Silk Sarees, Suit Material, and other cotton cloth are manufactured. Maheshwar Sarees are famous, he said. I brought Maheshwar Sarees to Bhopal Haat. He was confident that all the Sarees he had brought will be sold in this Haat.
Tourists are also attracted to the Haat.
Amit Nagpal is from Pondichery. He said 'I had come to visit Bhopal. I was told that cloths of Indian tradition and culture are being sold at the Haat. Hence I am here. I liked the city. This city of hills and lakes is extremely beauty', he said with a smile.
Reena, a tourist from Bangalore said she liked the handloom and handicraft items very much. I have bought Maheshwari Sarees for myself and cotton clothes for my children, she added.
