Service to people is only mission: Chouhan

Bhopal, April 15: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that service to people is the one and only mission of his life. He said that he is committed to make Madhya Pradesh one of the leading states of the country and solicited active public cooperation for this.

Chouhan was responding to a felicitation accorded to him by Mahamai Seva Samiti at Sironj in Vidisha district today. The Minister for Culture, Mineral Resources and Public Relations Laxamikant Sharma was especially present on the occasion.

Chouhan said that the state government has taken and sincerely implemented several decisions in favour of the farmers following which now agriculture is turning into a lucrative proposition. He said that a number of schemes including Ladali Laxami Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana are being implemented to ensure a better future for girls in the state. The Chief Minister reiterated the state government's commitment to welfare of all sections of society. He called upon the people to derive maximum benefit out of the various schemes being implemented for them.

Earlier, Chouhan visited Mahamai temple (Dangwali) and performed puja there. He also took part in a Havan along with his wife Ms Sadhana Singh there. He also honoured the saints present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister was felicitated by Mahamai Mandir Seva Samiti. Laxamikant Sharma read out and presented the Abhinandan Patra to the Chief Minister. The priest Nalinikant Sharma presented a picture and an image of Mahamai to the Chief Minister.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLAs Gurucharan Singh, Shyamlal Panthi, BJP district president Umakant Sharma, chairman of the Cooperative Bank Babulal Tamrakar, Zila Panchayat president Raghuvir Singh Raghuvanshi and other public representatives.
