Need to curb encroachments: Cause of accidents

Encroachment is a menace in the state. Small and big cities, towns, moreover the rural areas are also in grip of encroachments. Specially, the condition of district and divisional headquarters is pitiable. Even the capital city is not spared by encroachers. Encroachments are being indulged on nullahs and on road sides whereever land is found to be empty. This has resulted in choking of nullahs. Roads and streets have become narrower. Monsoon may arrive after two months and this is the time when these problems can be solved. Campaign against encroachments and cleanliness of nullahs should be started. Even though the civic body in cooperation with the disctrict administration removes encroachments from time to time, yet some powerful and vested interests intervene and see that the encroachments continue. Such examples are visible in the capital city Bhopal. Other cities including Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior are also not free from the menace of encroachers. Encroachment is a big hurdle in the development of the cities and instant action against it is necessary. No encroacher should be spared. Every year the citizens have to suffer due to encroachments. A number of road accidents are the result of these encroachments. Drainage system gets affected due to the choking of nullahs and its root cause is encroachment. It results in filth on the roads. Situation becomes grim during the rainy season. There is need to launch special drives for cleanliness of colonies along with removing encroachments. Roads should be made encroachment-free so that traffic system does not get disturbed and accidents are eradicated. There is parking problem in big cities. Traffic gets disturbed due to the parking on the roads and this problem should be solved on priority seeking measures to make the traffic smooth.
