SIMI members remanded

Chronicle News Service

Rajgarh, Apr 14: Five office-bearers of the banned Students' Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), who were recently arrested at Indore, were today remanded to police custody by a judicial magistrate's court in Narsinghgarh.

Safdar Nagauri, his brother Kamruddin, Aamil Pervez, Haidar and Shabli Mohammad Khan were brought here for police interrogation on a production warrant by JM S K Dwivedi.

''The accused were remanded until April 19,'' said Superintendent of Police DK Arya.

Details disclosed by Kamruddin and Pervez led to the arrest of three SIMI-linked persons at Narsinghgarh on April 5. Thirteen SIMI members were apprehended at Indore a fortnight back.
