Question raised on security at Rly station

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, Apr 14: Even after several claims of the railway administration breaking out of fire, theft and other criminal incidents reveal that in the matter of security, proper attention is not being given by Bhopal railway division.

In an incident ASI, PP Pandey had received 75 per cent burn injuries on April 12 in the evening at Habibganj railway station as he had come under the clutches of High Tension current. If the railway administration had adopted security arrangements then such incidents could be averted.

It may be mentioned here that a person in broad day-light climbed on a goods train of petrol-diesel tanks at plat form No.2 and no one noticed it. According to sources, neither any security personnel remain present at the plat form nor any guard who could check such incidents.

Similarly, fire incidents often take place at the railway stations. But why does the railway administration not have arrangements to control them. Whenever any railway official is asked about giving information of problems of passengers, railway stations then the concerning railway officials avoid it.

One of the officials told that several railway division officials want to keep themselves safe. This is their old tendency to make dilly dolly. What do the passengers say - A passenger, SP Purohit says that he was eye witness of the incident which took place on April 12 at Habibganj railway station.

There was no any security personnel at the railway station when the incident had taken place. Surendra Chouhan said that several passengers cross railway track with luggage but they are not restricted.

KK Gupta said that the passengers would have to be careful about themselves because if any criminal incidents take place with passengers then police get information after the incident.
