25th report not tabled, 26th is in progress

Bhopal, Apr 13: The Lokayukta Organisation is now preparing its 26th report. The report is expected to be ready by 15th of this month. In fact, the government has not tabled the 25th report in the Vidhan Sabha so far.

Sources informed that the officers of the Lokayukta is busy in preparing the report for the year 2007-08. The report may include the number of complaints received, the number of cases registered, the current position of complaints and cases, and how many complaints have been rejected.

Apart from this, the number of chalans submitted to the courts and the number of cases in which the accused have been convicted.

Only recently, the 24th report of the Lokayukta pertaining to the year 2005-06 was tabled in the Vidhan Sabha. The 25th report for the period ending 2006-07 is yet to be tabled in the Vidhan Sabha. It may be noted here that the Lokayukta Organisation submits its report to the Governor. The Governor sends it to the state government for further necessary action.

Lokayukta on leave from today

Lokayukta Justice Ripusudan Dayal will be on leave till April 20 from Saturday. He will be back in the capital on April 21. The staff of the organisation will continue to work on the pending cases and complaints.
