Bhopal, Apr 13: Marquee Vikas Evam Kalyan Samiti organised a programme on Sunday on the occasion of the 117th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar at Kotra Sultanabad. The Spokesman of The Buddhist Society of India Ashok M Patil was the chief guest of the programme and he paid tribute by lighting lamps and garlanding on statue of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar. On the occasion he addressed the gathering and said that education is the chief weapon of human beings and rights of human beings can be got through the education. In the programme, Ms Saifia K Siddiqui informed for creating awareness among children about various responsibilities of the society as well as the country. She said that the children should be given good education in the school for better future and understanding their responsibilities in the society. The programme was conducted by Ms Payal Shivhare.

Bodhisatv Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Sanyukta Jayanti Mahotsav

The three-day Bodhisatv Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Sanyukta Jayanti Mahotsav is being organised from April 12 at Jayanti Maidan, Second Stop. Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Umashankar Gupta and Mayor Sunil Sood inaugurated the programme on April 12 at 8.30 pm. On the occasion, Umashankar Gupta addressed the gathering and said that the philosophy of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar inspires us that the struggle is not only for any community or caste, struggle establishes the human values. He also praised for the celebrating the birth anniversary of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Mayor Sunil Sood said that we should follow the way and principles of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

Vehicles rally to be taken out today

A grand vehicles rally would be taken out from Ambedkar Park on Monday at 10.30 am under the aegis of Dr Ambedkar Yuva Sangathan District Bhopal on the occasion of 117th birth anniversary of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The rally would be reached at Mata Mandir, Government Sarojini Naidu Girls Postgraduate College and Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) Square. The president of Dr Ambedkar Yuva Sangathan Monu Boit, working president Rahul Jadhav would pray Buddh Vandana and they would garland on the state of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar on Monday at 11 am. Apart from this, procession (tableau) would also be taken out from Mata Mandir and it would be reached at Second Stop, New Market and Ambedkar Park.

Bharatiya Dalit Panthar

Bharaity Dalit Panthar would cut 117-Kg Cake on Monday at Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) Square at 12.30 noon on the occasion of the 117th birth anniversary of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The State President of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) Suresh Pachauri will be the chief guest, Mayor of Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) Sunil Sood will be the special guest, State-in-Charge of Bharatiya Dalit Panthar Subhash Ghusle would preside over the programme. On the occasion, large number of eminent personalities will also be present.

Mahakumbh in Baba Saheb's birthplace

Bhopal, Apr 13: Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Congress state President Suresh Pachouri and other leaders are expected at Babasaheb B R Ambedkar's birthplace MHOW (Military Headquarters Of War), in this district, to attend a Mahakumbh coinciding with his birth anniversary tomorrow.

About a lakh people from various parts of the country, especially Maharashtra, would converge at MHOW. The Bhim Birthplace Memorial would be unveiled at 1100 hrs by Advani. The foundation stone for the Memorial was laid on April 14, 1991 by the then chief minister Sunderlal Patwa, who headed a Bharatiya Janata Party government, but work on the structure proceeded at snail's pace owing to several hurdles. Construction began in April 1996 but halted in December 1997 due to a cash crunch and restarted in 2001 when Rs 42 lakh were provided. A total Rs 6.21 crore were allotted by the state government in 2005-06 and 2006-07, sources said.
