Pune, April 12: Victor Reinz india Pvt Ltd, a (51:49) joint venture between Reinz Dichtungs GmbH, Germanyand Pune based Jayant group is setting up a new Greenfield manufacturing unit at Talegaon, MIDC in Pune, to manufacture multi layer steel cylinder head gaskets, secondary gaskets and heat shields for their automative customers in India.

This is the first time that the Victor Reinz products will be manufactured in India and Victor Reinz India Pvt Ltd, will exclusively manufacture and market the entire range of sealing products under the Victor Reinz brand name in India.

Apart from the gaskets, the company will also introduce its high technology products like TAPS (heat & noise shields), can covers (with integrated air oil separator), gasket materials and sealants in India. Victor Reinz as a technology leader and innovator is committed to greener technologies and is already developing fuel cell stacks for the next generation of engine technologies.

Ralf Goettel, president, DANA Sealing Products and Jayant Dave, chairman of the Jayant group laid the foundation stone of this new manufacturing unit on the auspicious day of Gudhi Padva. Aakash Dave, MD, Victor Reinz India Pvt Ltd and Franz Hieble, MD, Reinz Dichtungs GmbH were also present during the stone laying ceremony.

The new unit would come up on a 5 acre plot. The JV will be investing Rs 40 cr in a phased manner for setting up this plant. The unit will start production from 2009.
