IAS Assn raises pay disparity of IPS, IFS

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, Apr 12: The Madhya Pradesh IAS Officers Association has taken up with the Government of India the grievances of IPS and IFS officers with regard to the pay disparity arising out of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations.

''The commission's certain recommendations have resulted in widening disparity between the payscales and remuneration of all India services, specifically in comparison to the Indian Administrative Service'', Association President Dilip Mehra said in a representation to the Secretary, Ministry of Personnel, Pension and Public Grievances.

The Association appreciates the concern of the Indian Police Service and Indian Forest Service Officers Associations and urges the Government of India to review the relevant issues and accord appropriate relief, Mehra added. According to Mehra, the IPS and IFS Officers Associations

have formally represented to the Centre and requested reconsideration. ''We understand that a high-powered committee of Secretaries has been set up by the Government of India to consider various representations against certain recommendations of the Pay Commission'', he added.
