Inflation at 3-year high of 7.41pc

New Delhi, April 11:
Much to the chagrin of the government, unabated rising prices of vegetables, food articles and steel pushed the inflation to a 40 month high of 7.41 per cent, casting a shadow on economic growth.

India will continue to be the second fastest growing economy in the world with the growth of over 8 per cent in 2008 despite turbulence in the global market, Finance Minister P Chidambaram said today.
