Bhopal Today Team
Bhopal, Apr 11:
Rigorous hard work and die-hard courage are imperatively needed for success. But to sustain the success for longer is much more difficult than that to achieve it at once. It requires confluence of continuous hard work, ability to work under dead line pressure, passion and positive attitude to sustain success for longer. Same kind of chemistry was found at MANIT campus in Event 2008 function.
In this function various kinds of competitions like hand cart pulling competition, walking on the rope, model makeover, monkey crawling, lawn tennis, wall painting, robotics etc were organised. More than 250 students participated in it with great zeal and enthusiasm and exhibited best of their talent and aptitude in various fields.
It may be mentioned that this competition was based on the theme of Rowdies programme that was telecast on MTV. Participants were short-listed on the basis of various tests. All the participants toiled hard to succeed and win prizes with the spirit of healthy competition. It was all camaraderie and no ill-feeling among the competitors. This amicable and pleasing atmosphere made the events livelier.
Sujit Kumar Sahu, final semester student of Electronic branch and Event Coordinator
Sahu said that primarily they short-listed 60 students out of more than 300 entries that they received from various colleges. Again on the basis of interview they chose only 24 students out of 60. Finally they selected 18 students for Money task. All students participated with high spirit. What was pleasing was that the competitors were taking part amidst the air of camaraderie and brotherhood which is generally missing in competitions.
Abhishek Gangwal, fourth semester electronic branch student
Gangwal said, 'I am very much inclined towards sports and outdoor activities so I am a participant as well as coordinator. He participated in the handcart pulling competition. Gangwal added that in this competition participants have to pull the handcart loaded with students from one point to another during a particular period of time. It is great joy and I am enjoying it. I suppose as if dreams were coming true. It was really a tough task to pull the handcart rode by about half a dozen students in hot summer noon. But the level of energy and enthusiasm can be gauged from the fact that everyone of us did the job with pleasure and happiness and kept smiling throughout the cart pulling competition.
Prashant Garg, coordinator (Take-2 Ryan)
In this competition 16 teams form MITS Gwalior, Radha Raman Bhopal, GEC Bhopal, RKDF, Bansal and LNCT Bhopal participated. MANIT Event 2008 was unprecedented opportunity for students to exhibit their talent and they exhibited excellent performance here. I have talked to the students and from their reactions I gather that they would always remember this event in their lives. It is also a unforgettable moment for me
