Vadodara, Apr 10: Irfan Pathan, the poster boy of the Indian cricket is in news again - not for toppling the oppositions batting order this time, though but by surrendering meekly to a Gujarati maiden Shivangi Dev.

Many of Irfan’s fans may already be aware that he has been dating Shivangi, a Chartered Accountant, daughter of a bureaucrat in the Indian Embassy in Australia. The gossip now is that the couple has also now received the blessings from their parents.

Shivangi is reportedly been having an affair with the sultan of swing since 2003 and the couple are now setting sight on long term commitment.

On the team’s return from Australia after the historic win, one member was missing on the flight back home - Irfan Pathan, No prizes for guessing, where the Indian bowling spearhead was. He decided to stay back in Australia to spend some quality time with the love of his life Down Under.

The latest twist to the love story is that Irfan’s father has more than accepted Shivangi and said that they were happy with Irfan’s choice.

Elaborating about their relationship, Irfan’s dad, Mehboob Khan said that the young Pathan would be tying the knot in another two years’ time. And that the family would accord her a warm and grand welcome.

“We will welcome her with a huge heart. We are happy if Pathan is happy,” he concluded.
