The world of entertainment was never this much big earlier. Now it has more than 90 channels on television, lots of web sites on internet, video games, various outdoor and indoor games, different parks and spots for outing. But even then books not lost their entertainment value. That is why they are still favourites for a number of youths. It is different matter that some like Premchand and Dharmveer Bharti and some go for Sydney Sheldon and Agatha Christy.
Student of BBA, Arpita Datta and Nupur Jaiswal are fond of reading. In summers they already fixed their programme to read their favourite writers. Arpita said, 'During academic session you can not spare much time read books other than syllabus so I will make up that loss in summers. Sidney Sheldon's novels are very exciting and suspense carries on up to the last page. Besides this, I will also try Tagore and Sharatchandra.'
While Nupur is fan of writers like Ruskin Bond and Robin Cook as she finds their style of writing and presentation are very charming. They also enrich our language as well.
Richa Hajela, student of Chitransh College, is fan of Premchand, as you feel relaxed after reading after him. She said, 'To understand Indian ambience no one is better than. His stories like Kafan, Poos Ki Raat and others are still relevant. While reading these stories we feel experience as one of the characters.'
On the other hand Ritesh Nagesh's choice is different, as he likes to read Shobha De and Agatha Christy. He says, 'It is always a different feeling while reading. We reach into altogether different world of suspense and thrill through reading.'
For Vipin Rajak choices are very wide ranging. At one hand he likes Harry Potter Series for fiction and on the other hand reads Khushwant Singh for his straight forwardness.
BBA student Lokesh Singh says, 'One should read something which can involve oneself and feel like a part of it. That is why I like Gunaho Ka Devta. It is such a special book that your thirst never dies no matter how many times you read it.'
