Self-promotional autobiography? Yes, it is!

Opposition politicians, press and review writers of LK Advani's autobiography, My country, my life? have been critical of the alleged factual errors, deliberate omissions, willful distortions and self-promotional strand running all through the autobiography. It is clear from the timing and the publicity accompanying the launch that it has been launched as a self-promotional exercise.

Advani is making no bones about his ambition. With Vajpayee tired and retired, he is the tallest leader in the BJP and is exploiting this opportunity to the hilt. Well, this is democracy. If you are competent and the people want you then why not do it with panache? As for some errors in his book, inadvertent or deliberate, let the scholars write tomes on them. The people at large hardly concerned. Let the people give their verdict on his suitability or otherwise. Similarly others too have the right to throw their hats in the ring.
