BJ to contest from all seats in MP: Uma

By Our Staff Reporter

Bhopal, Apr 9: Bharatiya Janshakti President Uma Bharti today said she would reply about returning to the BJP only after BJP President Rajnath Singh and senior leader LK Advani commented on the matter.

Talking reporters here, Ms Bharti made the statement while replying to a question about her return to the BJP. She said the BJ would contest from all the 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh and emerge as a third front. Corruption would be the main poll plank.

Ms Bharti said the Madhya Pradesh BJP has been divided into two camps - one of the Chief Minister and the other of the government. While the government was being run by senior party leaders in New Delhi, the Chief Minister was indebted to senior leaders.

The fiery sanyasin alleged that BJP ministers, legislators and leaders were sunk in corruption. She said 18 Special Economic Zones (SEZs) were proposed to be set up in the state but the BJ would not allow any one of them to be established unless the government made its policy clear.

On being the target of SIMI, she said she had always been in their hit-list. SIMI conducted its activities in the state during the past three years but the government, intelligence agencies and police did not get wind of it. This showed their incompetence.

She added that she was more concerned about the state than her life.
