Prime
Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has given importance to youth by
including young faces in his Cabinet expansion on Sunday.
By inclusion of seven new members, the Cabinet would get new
energy, it is hoped. Prior to the Cabinet expansion, the PM
sought resignation from 6 state ministers. These state ministers
include two from Andhra Pradesh and one from Maharashtra.
Resignation of Suresh Pachauri from Madhya Pradesh has also
been accepted and inclusion of young Jyotiraditya Scindia
in the cabinet indicates a good sign. Jyotiraditya Scindia
has been entrusted the ministry of Communication and Information
Technology. Experienced and senior MP of Rajasthan, Santosh
Bagrodia has been made minister. Party organisation and coal
ministry would get benefit of his experiences. Madhya Pradesh
has been given importance now as the State organisation in
charge, V Narayan Sami and present in charge of the State,
Jitin Prasad have been included in the Cabinet. Parliamentary
Affairs and Planning department has been given to Sami which
was under Pachauri earlier. V Narayan Sami is party general
secretary, whereas, Jitin Prasad is secretary. No one has
been included in the Cabinet from Chhatisgarh. MPs who were
in the news but failed to find berth in the Cabinet include
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader, Sibu Soren, TN CM M Karunanidhi's
daughter, MK Cozymony and MP Sachin Pilot. Senior leader of
Jharkhand, Rameshwar Oranv has been given charge of Tribal
Affairs Minister in place of Shibu Soren. A dedicated and
committed personality in MS Gill has been given charge of
the Sports and Youth Affairs ministry. The Cabinet expansion
is totally Congress centred and from the allies side, only
Raghunath Jha of the RJD found place in the Cabinet. The decision
of PM to repose trust in young leaders is praiseworthy.
