Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Apr 8: "Gore rang pe na itna guman kar, gora rang to ek din dhal jayega", "Gore gore mukhre pe kala kala chasma", "O gore gore o banke chore kabhi meri gali aaya koro", "Hum kale hai to kya hua dilwale hai" and many other Bollywood songs go a long way to show that to some extent complexion or colour of skin plays an important role in individual life. Gone are the days when the people used to expose their body to sunrays. Now they try their best to keep themselves away from it for fear of causing damage to their complexion. Today they are so conscious about the complexion of their skin that they especially, the ladies that they prefer to wear long gloves in hands and cover their faces by putting scarf on it to protect their complexion from scorching sunrays and dust.

Moreover they try all the creams and soaps that claims to bring changes in their complexions. The advertisements of these products like "Sardiyon me gora bannaye", "Garmiyon me bhi rangat nikhare", and many of these kinds of add found due response from beauty conscious people. Today the young girls make all possible efforts to improve colour of their skin as it plays important part in their life. Number of beauty therapies centre have come up in course of time claiming to improve their complexions. Moreover a number of televisions channel and magazines along with extra supplement in newspapers give tips to improve the complexion of the skins. Bit natural they are watched, read and applied by a number of enthusiastic beauty conscious people. Young girls often apply curd or Multani Mitti on their faces to improve their complexion or to retain the complexion of their faces. Here a mute question arises that is the complexion of skin is only a measure to judge the beauty of an individual. A number of people in Bhopal came forward to express their views on this topic.

Hemant Rajput, a final year student of commerce said that complexion of skin has nothing to do with beauty. He said fairness of a person is not the sole criteria to judge the beauty of an individual. Himself being of fair complexion he preferred a girl having mild complexion as his girl friend or life partner.

Pravin Singh Chauhan, student of MVM college was of the view that the people, especially the youth must that the complexion of skin is only a part of beauty and not the entire beauty. He suggested that people should not waste their money on improving their complexion as it has only a little to do with the personality of an individual.

According to Jaya Khubani, natural beauty is best and people should not feel complex because of their complexion. She added that himself being a girl she occasionally prefers to go beauty parlour for skin treatment. A person of her dream will be one with having pure heart and soul and will be judged only on this basis thus ignoring the criteria of complexion.

Charu Dua, a student of taxation expressed her views by saying that Beauty consists of purity of heart. She said that if there would be any truth in the product advertisements and beauty therapies centers making people fair and good looking then flocks of people would have applied and rushed to these beauty centers to turn fair and to have a good looking personality. But it is not so. She warned people and especially the youth to keep themselves away from these bogus claim.

The coming only will show that whether the people give priority to the fairness of skin or to the purity of heart and soul.
