Bhopal, Apr 8:
Most of the private hospitals and nursing homes do not send information about birth of infants. Now fine would be imposed on such people or hospitals who do not send information on time.
Directors of private hospitals and nursing homes now would have to provide information instantly to the municipal corporation about death and birth in their institutions. If they do not follow these instructions then Municipal Corporation would recover Rs 50 on every birth and death from hospital management.
This warning was given by additional commissioner, Abhay Arvind Bedekar to the directors of private nursing homes and hospitals at a meeting recently with the directors of private nursing homes and hospitals.
Though the information was given to 110 directors of private nursing homes and hospitals about attending the meeting, but only 30 directors attended the meeting.
It was decided that information should be given to municipal corporation about birth and death under Birth-death Registration Act 1969 under section 10 (3) by the management of nursing homes and hospitals. In spite of it the management of private hospitals and nursing homes do not send the related information in due course. This is the reason that the family members have to face problems in getting registration certificate form BMC. All the private nursing homes and hospital management know the rules well. Additional commissioner warned all the directors of private nursing homes and hospitals that if they do not send information in time limit then Rs 50 would be recovered as fine from hospital management.
It was informed in the meeting that Municipal Corporation is going to computerized the birth and death branch and government and private hospitals would be connected with it. Hospitals would be allotted codes. The private hospitals and nursing home connecting with network may upload the information related to birth and death. Later the municipal corporation downloading this information would issue certificates. This certificate would be sent to concerning hospital. In this way the seekers of certificate would not make round to municipal corporation.
On the other hand the state government has given authority to 10 government hospitals of registrar birth and death.
Condition of taking birth and death certificate- Municipal Corporation issues certificate within 21 days on the basis of birth certificate issued by hospital, and death certificate issued by funeral place or grave-yard.
In the period of 21 days to 3 months if any one wants to take birth or death certificate then certificate of concerning hospital, funeral place or grave yard along with affidavit of Tehsildar court should be produced in the same office.
For receiving birth or death certificate after the period of 3 months, one has to take order from Tehsildar court on the basis of certificate issued by hospital, funeral place or grave yard authority.
