Thackeray prays for fall of Cong govt

Agencies

Mumbai, Apr 6: As the entire state of Maharashtra celebrates Gudi Padva Sunday, Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray on this auspicious day has prayed for the "fall of the Congress government."

While wishing an auspicious Gudi Padva to all the Maharashtrians, Bal Thackeray said that the state and the country will prosper only after the downfall of the Congress government.

In an article in Shiv Sena mouth piece Saamnaa , Thackeray has said that Gudi Padva is celebrated to welcome the new year with sweets made in rich ghee and other delicacies.

"However, in the present time, under the Congress rule people do not have the basic necessities like food, water and shelter," Thackeray has stated.

Thackeray has further expressed that with the increase in prices for basic food products, it is not possible for everyone to celebrate this auspicious day.

"Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has failed to do anything regarding this and the government has been giving false promises only," the article said.

Thackeray in the end has pleaded to all the Maharashtrians to unitedly stand against the malpractices of the Congress government in this new year.
