Bhopal, Apr 6:
Land mafia these days eyeing on the government land worth crores of rupees in Kolar area. Some land has been gone into the occupation of them due to negligence of administration and remaining land is also unsafe. Kolar area was under panchayat before the existence of municipality and the builders have already occupied government land in this area.
Pattas are being sold on the name of donation (free will). This business is flourishing in the area. The revenue department has its thousand acre land in the urban and rural area of Kolar which has reduced now. The state government had given pattas of some lands but the allotted persons sold them on the name of donation.
The panchs-serpanchs sold lands to the builders when the area was under panchayat. After existence of Municipality this area took the shape of township and land cost has become higher. Seeing the interest of people to become resident of this area the land mafia are eyeing on the vacant government land.
The municipality should remove the encroachments in this area but they have no any record of it. They don't know which is government land and which is private one. The municipal officials have no information about it.
The encroachers have occupied land in ward number 5, Damkheda, Ward No. 3 at Mandakini Parisar, Ward No. 13, Kanha Kunj and vacant land of ward number 8,18 and 12. The land mafia are preparing for occupation on these lands. Similarly, the assets of mining department has been mined and the hills have been turned into pits.
If the administration does not become alert then the land mafia would occupy land in the area. No land would be found open in this area. The district administration officials are hand in gloves with the land mafia. No action in this connection has been taken against the land mafia.
Congress leader, Pankaj Chaturvedi.
The government land is being encroached along with it the beautiful hills are being mined illegally. High hills were turned into pits overnight. If it continues like it then at present the Kolar area is facing water crisis but in coming days it would be difficult to breathe here.
Social activist, Ramraj Tiwari.
Though it is true that land mafia is eyeing on government land but the municipality should make efforts to rescue government from encroachments.
BJP leader, Deepak Dayal Mathur
Earlier the whole Kolar area was on government land. Now the situation is that the half part of this area is not belong to government.
