Doctors prescribe drugs sans signature

Bhopal, Apr: 6 Doctors in Kamla Nehru Gas Relief Hospital are prescribing medicines to the patients without signature in the patient slips.

These doctors though prescribe medicines to the patients but the patients remain unanswered to tell that who has treated him.

Patients face problems in test

The doctors have been treating the patients in such a way for last one and a half-month after examining them and prescribe several test to the patients on their slips.

But when the patients go to pathology lab they are sent back as no doctor has made his signature on the patient slips. When the patients go back to the doctor, they remain absent or scold them unnecessarily.

Who is responsible for side effect of medicine-The question raises that if the doctors prescribe any wrong medicine to the patients and it reacts, who would be responsible for it.

Doctors delay in examining the patients

A patient, Shahnaz Beg told that he went to Kamla Nehru hospital on February 5 for taking treatment for blood pressure. A doctor in OPD prescribed medicines on slip No.14056648 and he also prescribed for tests but the lab attendant returned him back because the doctor had not signed on it.

An another patient, Sabar Beg when reached to the hospital on February 5,2008 and the doctor prescribed medicines but he did not thing necessary to sign it.

A patient, Salman says that some of the doctors willfully do not make their signature.

Preetam Singh said that seeing rush at the hospital the doctors attend the patients in a hurry due to which the patients do not get proper treatment. The doctors do not bother about the patients whether they get relief or not.

Hospital superintendent, Dr DK Bansal said that there should be signature of doctor in each patient slip. If such complaint has come into light that some of the doctors do not make their signature after prescribing medicines then I would see into the matter, said he.
