Ahmedabad, Apr 5:
After conceding their biggest ever defeat against South Africa, India's captain Anil Kumble promised to fight back in the next Test in Kanpur, starting from Friday. At the post match presentation, he said that India can still bounce back to square the series.
"It was difficult to come back after getting bowled out for 76, but we got four wickets, before Kallis and de Villiers took the game away from us", Kumble said.
When asked about his thoughts on the next Test in Kanpur, Kumble replied, "We have been in this situation before. I thought the effort from our bowlers was hundred percent. We will definitely bounce back."
He also defended his batsmen by saying that almost everyone got starts in the second innings, but unfortunately they could not convert their starts into big scores.
Victorious captain Graeme Smith said, "This was the perfect Test match for us. We dominated from the start. It was hard work for the bowlers today on a heavy outfield. It`s been fantastic for AB and Kallis. The guys know we`ve got one more game to go. They`ve been focused throughout the series."
Man of the Match AB de Villiers said, "I`m just over the moon. Having Kallis around was a good calming effect, especially when I was in the 90s. I enjoyed playing here, and the Ahmedabad fans have been great. Just the perfect Test for us."
