Most
of the people alive in our country have not undergone the
ruling of British regime. So it is very difficult for them
to realize, in true sense, the difference between rule of
our own Indian govt and the ruling of a foreign government.
So, it is very easy to think for them as independence of the
country taken for granted. But, definitely it is not the case.
Before Aug 15, 1947, our country was under British rulers.
How much we Indians must be facing tension in day-to-day life
due to foreign rule is known exactly by those who faced it.
Independence of our country was not given to us in a golden
plate as a favourite dish. To get the independence, Indian
people had to fight in many ways with the British rulers.
Many brave people took up this work in their own ways. One
of these was great martyr Shaheed Bhagat Singh. He was a great
nationalist and did everything up to his extreme capacity
to see India free. It is our moral duty to realize the value
of independence we are enjoying at present. Had Bhagat Singh
and other revolutionaries not taken up this great courageous
work on their own footings to get it even in lieu of their
lives, it would have been very difficult to enjoy the fruits
of breathing in atmosphere of freedom. It is worth mentioning
that nobody appointed these great martyrs for the work they
did for the nation. It was solely their own decision to jump
into the fire of such involvements for freeing Mother India
from slavery. Under the great banner of their `self-realization'
they performed daring works. And wonderful is that most of
them were fully aware of the consequences they faced.
Our heads should automatically bow down in their respect.
Let us every year remember the date March 23 1931 when the
great Bhagat Singh sacrificed his life for the great cause
of making India free from ruling of British regime. It was
his firm belief that by his step many other courageous youths
will come forward with their whole enthusiasm to take up the
mission in complete succession, till the final goal of achieving
independence for India. Such belief of Bhagat Singh was solid
and logical as he himself had shown the example of giving
everything for this great cause of the nation.
