Bhopal, Apr 3: Youngsters' inclination towards adventure sports like rock climbing, river crossing, trekking, bike and car race have increased considerably in recent time. These are the games known for their zeal, excitement and passion and that attracts youths a lot. There are many places in the city where youths can be found enjoying themselves.

Lake View is one of such places. Youths gather in the morning and evening there to enjoy water sports. Here they find all facility of water related adventure games like rowing, sailing, kayaking and canoeing. The place has emerged as sports centre because even national competitions of some games held there. Youth Welfare and Sports Department of Madhya Pradesh and many private organisations are continuously making efforts to shape it as popular centre for adventure sports.

State Chairman of Youth Hostel Association of India has been active in this for long. He said, 'Earlier only handful of people were associated with it but now more and more youngsters are showing interest towards it. Even facilities are also increased in comparison to the past. For water parasailing Upper Lake is ideal place. For trekking and rock climbing Bhadbhada area is best. Here any competition of Asian level can be organised.' He believes that if the Government and the private sector put hands together then Bhopal could become one of the biggest centres for such sports.

State Secretary of the association Sunil Ambarkar said, 'For paragliding Bhopal is suitable. Behind hostel No. 5 of MANIT there is a huge place for that.'

Shripad Kundle, associated with adventure sports for a long time, says for mountaineering and trekking Bhopal and its surrounding areas are very suitable. Its geographical conditional is perfect according to the need of the sports.

Shehla Masood, founder president of Bhopal Bikers Club, said, 'We are heading towards to make it adventure zone. The location and interest of the people are in place to make it big destination.'
