Bhopal, April 3:
Food and Civil Supplies officials have conducted checking of misuse of LPG in vehicles, shops and establishments. During the checking they seized 58 cylinders from 27 shops and establishments in the city and filed cases against them in the court of district magistrate.
The district collector Mathur has fined Rs 1.14 lakh and ordered to confiscate the seized cylinders. He directed the hotel owners to use only the commercial cylinders and record their consumption of cylinders in the passbook issued by the district food and civil supplies office. He once again warned that action under essential commodities act will be taken against them if LPG meant for domestic use has been misused.
