Final call on Kumble, Ishant

A final call on the availability of captain Anil Kumble and young speedster Ishant Sharma for the second cricket Test against South Africa will be taken on Thursday after a fitness assessment of both players.

Joining mindgame launched by his coach Micky Arthur, South African captain Graeme Smith on Wednesday said they have worked out a few plans to contain Indian opener Virender Sehwag in the second Test starting at Motera tomorrow.
 
Paes playing captain for Davis Cup tie against Japan

Leander Paes has been named playing captain of the the Davis Cup team for India's second round tie against Japan in the Asia/Oceania Zone Group 1 to be held here from April 11.
 
Akhtar`s ban unacceptable to nation: Pak govt

Hours after fans cheered Shoaib Akhtar as he walked for the press conference, Pakistan’s new government came out in support of the express bowler raising hopes of ban being overturned by PCB. However recent reports coming from Pakistan suggested that PCB was in no mood to lift the five year ban.
 
ICL Indians to take on Pakistan & Rest of the World

The Indian Cricket League (ICL) announced its forthcoming tournament `ICL 20s World Series 2008.` A tri-series, the tournament will have three teams - ICL India, ICL Pakistan and ICL World competing for the title.
