Amritsar, Apr 1: Five months after completing a jail term on fake currency charges, a Pakistani woman is at her wit's end.

The Indian authorities are keen to repatriate her, but the Pakistan government is not forthcoming.

Farzeena Sareen, a mother of three and a resident of Lahore in Pakistan, was arrested in Amritsar on April one last year for possessing fake Indian currencies having a face value of Rs 9,800.

A local court awarded six month's imprisonment to Sareen. After completing her sentence on November 26, 2007, Sareen has been languishing at Amritsar Jail's transit camp.

Jail superintendent S P Singh said though the Indian government is ready to repatriate Sareen, the Pakistan government has not given any positive gesture.

Sareen sought help from the Home Ministry to facilitate her return by getting necessary clearances from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

The Pakistan mission has not responded to the Home Ministry's repeated efforts to forward Sareen's repatriation case, Singh added. Amritsar Jail authorities said there were two other Pakistani women along with Sareen who were staying at the transit camp after Pakistan 'refused' to take them.
