The Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) on Tuesday announced new tariff rate for the current fiscal.
However, only the domestic consumers consuming up to 100 units per month have been spared from any hike in tariff.
The Commission has marginally increased Rs 10 per KW in fixed charges for the domestic consumers consuming above 100 units per month for urban areas only. On the other hand energy charges have been reduced by 8 paise per unit in non-domestic category. A new sub-category for government schools has been created under non-domestic category with reduced energy charges (by 37 paise per unit less than the normal tariff of non-domestic category).
The Commission has excluded x-ray units from the calculation of minimum consumption. New provision for incentives at the rate of 5% on energy charges have been made for adopting energy efficiency measures in public water works and street lights in HT and LT categories.
Fixed charges are reduced by Rs 5 per HP for LT industries up to 25 HP in urban areas. No change has been made in the energy charges for LT industries of above 25 HP.
Fixed charges for LT industries above 25 HP are increased by 10% making overall increase by 2% only in spite of increase of 2.5% in average cost of supply.
There is overall reduction in consumer contribution part as compared to last year in agricultural category despite increase of energy charges by 15 paise per unit.
No change in tariff for DTR metered consumers.
Rebate in energy charges for agricultural consumers have been increased to 1.5 times on installation of energy saving devices. Now, the rebate shall be allowed on consumers' contribution part.
Poultry farms, dairies, nurseries, sericulture, aquaculture etc have been brought under the sub-category of tariff schedule LV-5 with no hike in tariff for above 25 HP and reduction in fixed charges by Rs 5 per KVA for urban areas.
Rebate on account of advance payment is increased from 0.5% per month to 1% per month for all consumers.
Load factor concession is increased for load factor more than 80%.
Energy charges are increased by 5 paise per unit, for railway traction despite increase in average cost of supply by 9 paise per unit.
Energy charges are reduced by 7 paise per unit for coalmines despite increase in average cost of supply by 9 paise per unit.
Time of Day surcharge/rebate is included in the tariff for coalmines.
Fixed charges are increased by Rs 10 per kVA for 11kV, Rs 20 per kVA for both 33 kV and 132 kV for HT industries.
Energy charges are increased by 6 paise per unit for 33 kV and 132 kV and no change for 11 kV for HT industries.
No change in tariff for HT non-industrial category and HT and LT seasonal consumers.
A separate category of shopping mall is created under HV-3 tariff schedule.
Fixed charges are increased by Rs 10 per kVA for 11kV, Ers 15 per kVA for 33 kV and Rs 20 per kVA for 132 kV for public water works and HT irrigation.
Energy charges are increased by 15 paise per unit for all public water works and HT irrigation.
No change in tariff for other HT agricultural users.
