Youths have various pretexts to throw or demand a party from friends. If a youth of student buys something new, especially, a costly one his friend circle eggs on him to throw a party. Similarly, if some one passes examination with a distinction he is also urged to give a treat. This trend is prevalent in both girls and boys. The 'new pinch' was confined once to only new clothes, but it has encompasses any brand new thing be it a computer of bike.
Giving and taking treat is a technique of making good atmosphere in the society. Today giving and taking treat has become a fashion among the teenagers. Treat may be costly as large sum is spent on it. But at the same time it has an added value that relationship can be strengthened through it and the moment of treat is remembered always by the friend circle.
Radha Malviya, a student of BSc first year said that a group of college friends was asking her to give a treat since she had purchased a new Scooty. After persistent nagging she had to give in and took the friends to a restaurant. 'Though I had to cough out a good sum on the treat but I have no regrets, said Radha adding that the moments I shared in the company of my friend and their pleasure was more precious for me than the expenditure.
Ramesh, Subhash and Praveen, students of Barkatullah University said that 'our friend Ankit has been selected by a multinational company and very good package would be given to him. So the students were egging on him to give a treat and Ankit will have to give a party to celebrate his achievement.
Recently, a student, Govind Yadav purchased a motorcycle. He too will have to throw a party as his friends were nagging him to do so. However, Govind and other students do not consider this trend of 'treat' as bad since it is the most opportune moment not only for celebration but also for uniting with friends.
