Inflation rises to 6.68 per cent; highest in 12 months

Surge in prices of metal and food items pushed inflation rate growth by 6.68 per cent, the highest ever in the past one year, dashing hopes of a softer interest rate regime in the near future.
 
CPI rules out formation of 3rd alternative

Ruling out possibility of formation of a third alternative before the next elections, the CPI on Friday said it would go for "state-specific" alliances with various political parties.

The Delhi High Court on Friday vacated its stay on proceedings initiated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against former External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh and his son Jagat Singh for alleged foreign exchange violations in the Iraqi oil-for-food scam.
 
Pak for resolution of Kashmir issue: Zardari  

Islamabad, Mar 28:
Pakistan will move forward to resolve the Kashmir issue with India through a peaceful dialogue and the nation's new government will continue confidence-building measures initiated by the previous regime, PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday.
