The is organising A two-day national seminar on 'VLSI Design and Embedded System titled' 'Chipfocus-2008', organised by Oriental Institute of Science & Technology began at the Institute's auditorium on March 28.
Prof Deepankar Nagchaudhuri (IIT, Delhi) was the chief guest at the inaugural function. He discussed the topic of "CMOS Processor Design". Along with him Dr SV Tokekar, Dean Faculty DAVV (Indore) put light on "Video on Demand" and Kishore Yalamanchilli, Research Engineer DAIICT (Gandhi Nagar) talked about "Design of Fault Tolerant System on Chip" Tomorrow Dr Vishnu Priye, ISM (Dhanbad) would throw light on "Application of Genetic Algoritham in VLSI Design" and Dr DK Mishra from SGSITS (Indore) would talk about "Emerging Trends in VLSI Design & embedded System".
The objective of the seminar is convergence of scholars from across the country on a common platform to discuss the topic of VLSI and Embedded System. Eminent Scholars from IIT (Delhi), ISM (Dhanbad), DAIICT (Gandhinagar), SGSITS (Indore) delivered their lecturers on this occasion.
On this occasion, Chairman of Oriental Group of Institutes, KL Thakral stated that focus of the seminar is on the chip while focus of the Oriental is on the all round development of the students. He also said that there is a need to focus on the emerging opportunities in VLSI design and embedded System so that India can soon boast of itself as a front runner in this field as in IT.
From all over the India, more than 650 students are participating in this seminar.
