Bhopal, Mar 28: The new academic session in Madhya Pradesh will begin on April 1 instead of July 1. Orders in this regard had been issued by the state government's School Education Department, official sources said today.

Official sources said the schools across the state will adopt the CBSE pattern in observing summer holidays in May and June. The new holiday system will increase the teaching days in a year to about 200.
