Bhopal, Mar 27: The 33rd Iftekhar Cricket Tournament is being organised under the joint aegis of Bhopal Divisional Cricket Association and Iftekhar Cricket Academy at Bab-E-Ali Cricket Ground. The Tournament was declared fixture on Thursday.

The secretary of the 33rd Iftekhar Memorial Tata Indicom Cup Cricket Tournament Organising Committee Hamid Ullah Khan Mamu said that the fixture was declared through the lottery system. On the occasion, all the teams in-charge as Arvind Kapoor, Arshad Khan, Nasir Tony, Jyoti Tyagi, Raju Irani, Sazid Khan, Samad Khan, Mohammad Gufran and large number of eminent personalities were also present.

The first inaugural match would be played on Friday at 9 am between Ankur Cricket Academy Vs Jyotiraditya Academy. Second match would be played on March 29 between Hamidia Academy Vs Ankur Cricket Academy. Third Match would be played on March 30 between Central Michael Academy Vs Bhopal Alumni Eleven. The fourth match would be played on March 31 between Irani Club Vs Arera Club. Fifth match would be played on April 1 between Jyotiraditya Eleven Vs VIPC. First semifinal match would be played on April 2, Second semifinal match would be played on April 3 and final match would be played on April 4.

The tournament would be organised on knockout basis and International rules would be followed in the tournament. Matches would be of 40 overs for each team. The two teams of Bhopal Cricket Association would be selected through the tournament for National Level Cricket Tournament. The players would be selected based on their performance.

Bhopal, Mar 27: Departmental sports meet for employees/officials would be organised under the aegis of Department Officers/Employees Sports and Cultural Society, Public Health Engineering Department from March 29. Under this sports meet various championships would be organised. Cricket Tournament would be organised on March 29 and 30 from 9 am at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT). Carrom Championship would be organised on April 3 and 4 at the office of the Executive Enginner (Sub Division ) Public Health Engineering Department, Mata Mandir from 11 am.

Chess Championship would be organised on April 8 and 9, 2008 at the office of the Executive Engineer (Sub-Division), Public Health and Engineering Department, Mata Mandir from 11 am.
