With only a day left, political atmosphere of the State capital is hotting up in view of the Rajya Sabha elections.
The biennial election for the three seats from Madhya Pradesh will take place on March 28. But for three seats four candidates are would be trying their luck.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has nominated three candidates - Maya Singh, Raghunandan Sharma and Prabhat Jha while Supreme Court advocate Vivek Krishna Tankha is contesting as Independent candidate with the backing of State's main Opposition party Congress and support of Samajwadi Party and other political parties and Independent.
In view of the election, a meeting of BJP and Congress MLAs would be held on Thursday. The meeting of BJP MLAs will be held at the residence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The party has directed its MLAs to camp at the State capital on Thursday and Friday.
Similarly, Congress MLAs will meet at the residence of Leader of Opposition Jamuna Devi on Thursday. The meeting will be addressed by Pradesh Congress Committee president Sureshj Pachauri.
The other political parties of the State will also held meeting at their respective party headquarters or at the residence of their party leaders.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA on Thursday alleged on the State's Economic Offence Bureau (EOW) for not allowing him to cast his vote in support of Rajya Sabha nominee.
In a complaint lodged to Election Commission, Guddu alleged that EOW has served him a notice to appear as one witness to a case at 10:30 am on March 28 at it's Indore office.
He alleged that EOW officers on telephone threatened him to remain in Indore on March 28 and appear as one witness to the case or else he should be prepared to face consequences and will be put behind bars.
