Arif lambastes Gufran
Bhopal, Mar 25:
Congress MLA and Pradesh Congress Committee vice president Arif Aqueel on Tuesday lambasted on former MP and senior Congress leader Gufran-e-Azam who tendered his resignation from the post of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) executive council on Monday.
Gufran is a political opportunist leader, without any base among the grass root workers. Under his leadership Congress party never won a single election, he alleged while addressing a press conference at PCC headquarter.
Since past 20 years he enjoyed various post in PCC, but never visited PCC office. He doesn't have any contribution towards the organisation. Infact, he utilised PCC posts for his personal gains, exhorted Aqeel.
I ask Gufran what is his contribution in the development of Bhopal? Did he ever raised plight of gas victims in the Rajya Sabha and Parliament? Why he never returned back land holding of tribals that he forcefully grabbed in Jhalpipli and Beerpur? Is it not true that he installed a stone crusher unit in the name of his wife inside the reserve forest area near Kolar Dam, he asked Gufran.
He is the one who is responsible for the decline of Hockey game in Bhopal.
Aqeel also circulated figures of votes that came into the pocket of Congress party from Nishat Colony, Jhalpipli and Beerpur polling booths in general and Assembly election since 1998.
He ended by saying that since 2004 (period when Congress is in Opposition) Gufran never participated in a single dharna or rally organised by Congress party on various occasions till date.
