The families of Maheshwari community the other day celebrated Holi, the festival of colours, with Faag songs and colours of gulal and wished all the members prosperity and happiness in life.
In the Holi Milan programme, organised by the Maheshwari Pragati Mandal, traditional form of celebration was seen and on the other hand colourful atmosphere added the happiness of the festival.
Chairman of Maheshwari Pragati Mandal and Chief Editor of Nava Bharat and Central Chronicle newspaper group, Mr Prafulla Kumar Maheshwari was the chief guest of the programme. While wishing the members of the community he said that Holi is one of the different colours of Indian culture and festivals, which increases brotherhood and communal harmony. Using colour and gulal is not only a formality but includes love and respect for others. He appealed to the Maheshwari community members to work for the progress of the society.
Maheshwari Pragati Mandal secretary Shakun Dhoot said that Maheshwari community worships Lord Shiva, and Shiva and Parvati have also given the message to play Holi and to drench in colours. She said that though the interest in celebrating Holi has become less but these festivals are important to maintain our cultural heritage.
The emotion in a Tilak of Gulal lies identity of Indian culture and known in the world. Taking inspiration from these festivals the world has been adopting Indian culture.
Director of Nava Bharat newspaper group, Mr Sumeet Maheshwari, Prabhat Tapadia, Ravi Gagrani, RC Baheti, Khushalchand Jetha, Madan Lal Chandak, Ramgopal Loya, GP Somani, Yadunandan Jaju, Ramanlal Bhattar, Shakun Dhoot, Kailash Malpani, Arun Malpani, KC Laddha, KK Maheshwari, Purushottam Sodhani, Pankaj Kela, Rajesh Tenani, Jagdish Mohata, Mohan Jhanwar, Badrinarayan Rathi were present prominently.
Mrs Brij Maheshwari also participated in the programme. Woman wing of the Mandal included Rama Bang, Kiran Surjan, Suman Janwadhia, Pushpa Dangra, Sarita Maheshwari, Seema Goyadani, Chanda Devi Laddha, Uma Baheti were also present in the programme.
Song team of Mathura Prasad Vichtra was centre of attraction in the programme which presented Faag songs in different Raga. Songs based on Radha-Krishna, Shiv-Gauri and Sita-Ram were presented which were related to celebration of Holi. Ramesh Maheshwari presented Holi based poems and present people enjoyed them a lot. Whereas, Yajunandan Jaju presented some poems.
