Religious, not superstitious

Bhopal Today Team

Bhopal, Mar 24: Sarita Upadhyaya is a bank officer, and leaving all the superstitions on the shelf she never flinch to sport a black sari in temple. According to her prayers are offered with heart, clothes have nothing to with it.

Supriya Pathak is a school principal and she arranged the marriage of her daughter without matching the stars. In her perception the bond of marriage depends on love and understanding, rather matching the stars. Ruchi Singh a student of engineering said that she never believes in customs and superstitions. It does not matter that a cat has crossed her way. I believe that stopping for it would cost dearly as time is not going to wait for you, says Ruchi.

These were the examples of modern era's girls and women, who are struggling to find or to make a way. There is no space for dogmas, superstitions, and customs for them. On the contrary they are quite modern and more progressive. Now, a cat, or a sneeze is not going to stop them. This section of society is not afraid to sport a black sari at the temples; they push the pedal down on the high-speed lanes and are not hesitant to stop at a gas station, every Saturday. So is the condition of the dwelling places also, in lieu of green chili and lemon, wind chimes could be witnessed dangling by the door.

Vital factors:

Education, shortage of time, and awareness are the vital factors due to which superstitions are vanishing. According to Kakoli Roy, modern girls and women look for a reason behind everything. The second is, they are running short of time and it is slipping away to fast. Now in such condition nobody has time to follow these superstitions. Awareness is another vital factor, as compared to early times nowadays girls and women are well aware of the happenings and progress, and there is no place for superstitions.

They said:

Superstitious, me? No way. It does not matters to me that either cat of elephant has crossed, I keep on moving no matter what, says Deepshikha Srimali.

It is an old saying and still in practice that during Shradhpaksh shopping is prohibited, says ShwetaTiwari. But she prefers to shop during this time, as the goodies are available at cheaper rates.
