Bhopal, Mar 24:
Union Commerce and Industry Minister Kamalnath today described Madhya Pradesh's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regime as unsuccessful and added that its wrong policies vexed the common man including peasants and labourers. ''The saffron party paid scant heed to the public's problems over the past four-and-a-half years of its tenure,'' he alleged here while addressing a meeting to drum up support for Congress candidate Sukhdev Panse who is contesting the Betul Lok Sabha bypoll and also represents Masod in the Assembly.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President Suresh Pachouri said that no action was initiated on Rs 300 crore worth of development work announced by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for this district.
The byelection was necessitated by the death of BJP MP Vijaykumar Khandelwal whose son Hemant is the BJP nominee.
