BigB plays down Raj's remarks

Agencies

Mumbai, March 23: Actor Amitabh Bachchan has played down remarks against him by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray that he had done more for UP than for Mumbai.

"Random charges are random and they do not deserve the kind of attention you wish me to give," Bachchan said in an interview to a local tabloid.

Bachchan was responding to a query on the impact of the MNS chief's charges against the actor and his family.

"This is a free country and every individual enjoys the liberty of free speech. The law of the land and its Constitution are supreme. Every Indian should be governed by that," the actor said.

The Bollywood star, however, added that "every Indian should be affected by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief's remarks."

Amitabh Bachchan's remarks have come at an interesting time as the MNS chief is scheduled to address a public rally tomorrow.
